Journaling prompts to help you process

In my own journey of healing from loss and tragedy, journaling has been a huge practice of release and surrender for me. As much as we can feel out of control about life, journaling is a practice that can ground us in the present moment, remind us who we are, and remind us who our Creator is.

I invite you to make some space in your life and your day to answer these questions. Let them be a starting point of reflection, and a source of comfort for you. Maybe grab a cup of coffee, or your favorite beverage, and take some time to reflect.

  1. How are you nurturing yourself? How are you taking care of yourself spiritually, emotionally, and physically?

  2. What are your current beliefs about God? What feelings do you feel when you think about sitting with him in your emotions? Imagine he is sitting there with you. How does that make you feel?

  3. Take some time to reflect on the important relationships in your life. Who do you need to forgive? Who do you need to change your thoughts about? How can you love this person? Who else needs your attention?

  4. When you sit in your emotions today, what situations come up from the past where there is unresolved emotion? How can you hold space for this? How can you see this experience in a new light?

It is my prayer that these questions give you space to reflect and begin an open dialogue towards healing. I encourage you as you write, to write without fear. Give yourself the ability to be free as you process your emotions and tend to your heart towards healing.
